The photo in this logo is believed to have been taken in about 1911 or so.  A larger version shows almost no homes or other buildings.  The palm tree looks like several years growth but it may have been a few years old when planted.

This logo was designed by Claude Delphia and is supposed to reflect the design themes of the 1910 era when Patterson was founded.  Likewise the colors are reminiscent of that era. Delphia also designed the 1984 Diamond Jubilee logo and the Apricot Fiesta logo.  He participated in the 1959 Golden Jubilee and is chairing the Labor Day event.
